Motion-Activated Water Sprayers Motion-activated sprayers emit a sharp burst of water and the combination of the sudden unexpected noise, movement, and water spray scares the living daylights out of most creatures. Squirrels quickly associate this unpleasant experience with the location and stay away. These devices require a clear field of view (bushes and trees block it), a dedicated hose line, and a 9-volt battery (not included) to power the motion sensor. Their infra red sensors work day and night to keep out intruders without chemicals or unsightly barriers. Each unit uses only 2-3 cups of water per burst of spray. The Scarecrow® covers an area up to 1200 square feet and multiple units can be linked together to create a formidable barrier. With its decorative decals designed to visually help scare critters away, the unit becomes an interesting feature in the yard. The Spray Away covers an area up to 1000 square feet.
